The Twilight Zone: The Definitive Collection

Rod Serling created one of the best anthology SciFi TV shows of all time when he created The Twilight Zone. Known for unexpected plot twists and mind-bending concepts of reality, the classic has finally arrived in a 28 DVD collection, known as the Definitive Collection, uncut and restored sound and video, with lots of bonus features.

As with all things television, there are shows that are clunkers, some that are clinkers, and quite a few that stand out as some of the best work ever produced for the small screen.

A must have for the true TZ fan, ready to start their own holiday weekend marathon viewing.

Looney Tunes: Golden Collection, Volumes 1-6

Warner Brothers has put together 6 volumes of 4 DVDs each of some of their best animated shorts, the classic Looney Tunes. Looney Tunes ran in movie theaters from 1929 to 1970, and started out using the music library of the WB studio.

These shorts represent some of the best animation, especially for the mad-cap plots, ever produced by a studio, then and now.

These are not a complete collection of Looney Tunes as some are not for sale or broadcast due to very overt racial stereotypes, but starting with volume 3 some shorts have been included along with a disclaimer that the shorts are a product of their times.

Unedited and UN-politically correct at times, these collections are a must-have for the DVD library of any animation fan.

Amazon.com has the collections here.

Beware: Looney Tunes – The Spotlight Collections appear to be just repackaged shorts from the Golden Collections, don’t waste your money.
